267 mobile apps banned this year
The year 2020 will be remembered by the
Indian government for taking action against China. This will be the first time
in history that the Indian government has banned more than 250 apps related to
China. The banning of Chinese apps began with the popular short video app TikTok.
On 29 June 2020, the first digital strike by the Indian government banned 59
apps. Thereafter, 47, 118 and 43 apps were banned respectively. The Ministry of
Information Technology has banned all these apps under Section 69A of the
Information Technology Act. In this way, a total of 267 apps have been banned
in India in the year 2020.
